Hehehe...when was the last time you saw this thread ppl? That was ages ago huh? Well, to those who don't know...this is the thread that started this art and anime board...not to mention the longest thread in flashkit history...Because other ppl are reopening the f2k thread trying to beat this thread...it is only fair to reopen this thread...also, armadillo requested nicely that this thread be reopened again...WE WILL BEAD THAT OTHER THREAD...MUAHAHAHAHA (no i'm not insane...)

    Edited 8/3/2000:

i have posted a thread wondering what others opinions were, and a majority of the replies agree with closing the thread...this thread has brought a home to many anime flashers...and it has brought me happiness to see that there are anime flashers who love and appreciate japanese anime and made it possible for a anime forum to open...i hope that this new anime board will continue to expand with various discussions and threads...Since we have a whole anime board to discuss anime, i am going to close this thread...if there is a large demand to reopen this thread, i will reopen it

This has become more of an anime discussion thread ^_^ Any questions about an anime series, or anything u would like to post about anime can go here...I really love anime, and would like to see that there are others who agree with me that anime is something good...

I'm assuming you mean the real Cardcaptor Sakura, and not the WB's butchered version.
I'm really fond of most Anime, and I do very much like the artwork of CLAMP (hence my previous comment ), just about anything and everything coming out of Studio Ghibli, Madhouse does some good work...

I've finally found an anime fan on flash kit...wonder if there's more...I love clamp's work sooo much. WB's version of card captor sakura really sux. i have the fansub version of those tapes, and after watching those, the WB dubbed version cuts out a lot of the emotion and details...did u notice on the first episode of WB's Card Captors, when they introduced shao lan, the teacher turned around, but didn't write anything...in the fan subs, he turne around to write his name...they cut out soooo many of the detail in the dubbed version...

    he

perfect blue is a movie, a psycho-thriller. I don't wanna tell the story, you wouldn't enjoy the watching then; If you live in america, i think you can find the tapes for rent.

I'm still plugging a few of my faves:
    - Macross Plus (the 4 tape version, not the movie)
    - Castle of Cagliostro (old Miyazaki, great flick)
    - Ninja Team Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets or G-Force to those who grew up in the States)
    - Patlabor2 (1 is pretty good too, although a bit slow)
    - Guyver (I like this one although most people don't)

I just got Perfect Blue on DVD recently - it is an excellent movie. Highly reccomended.

As for weblinks, there's lots of really cool anime-style web comics out there. Check out:

Sounds like a pretty full and fulfilling weekend to me!
I just got "Green Legend Ran" earlier this week on DVD, which I would also suggest you check out if you get a chance. (Over 140 minutes on a single DVD! Yikes! But every minute is involving). Not sure if it's available on VHS, tho...

Smile olde - tyme anime fan

Kraken --- U must B an olde -tymer like myself...the titles you mentioned are the only ones I recognize!!

Remember the old days when you had to know a friend of a friend who taped them off TV and the copies were pure garbage? But we sat thru it anyway...

I got in during the big mecha-craze years:

Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta Gundam
    Super-dimentional Spacefortress Macross
    Heavy Metal L.Gaim
    The Five Star Stories
    Transformers (yes, Transformers!)
    Megazone 23
    Giant Gorg
    Space Cruiser Yamato
    Space Pirate Captain Harlock
    Dirty Pair (original series)
Lupin III (and any Miyazaki films)
    Urusei Yatsura
    Project A-ko
    Gall Force
    Fight! Iczer 1
    Akira
    Angel's Egg
    Robot Carnival
    City Hunter (manga)
    Original Cream Lemon
    Ujin Brand

....man, the old days....I just don't know this new stuff!! I'm probably a good 5-6 years out of date. The most recent thing I've seen is Giant Robo!!

I saw Ozamu Tezuka (Phoenix 2774, Astro Boy) in 1983.
Visited some studios in Tokyo in 1988. Watched the first half of Totoro at the offices of Animage. A lifetime ago..!!

    Hand me my cane...
