Simple menu go to scene not working

I am working on a simple menu I downloaded from Flash Kit resources:

I have put a new scene called page1 and when the user clicks on menu1 it will take them to page1 but it does not work why?

I have now tried 5 different menus and tutorials. Each one I could create but when I click on one of the buttons to take me to a new scene it never works.

Be sure to specify your version of flash. I tried to open your .fla to see if I could lend a hand, but was unable to do so.

Maybe post your code here?
If you're leaving the AS alone, and just modifying the images/aesthetics, it all should work...Maybe there's a minor syntax error on your end?

I will try as you suggested.

I think there is a massive problem with menu tutorials using Flash on the internet. As I have said I tried about 5 and each show how to create a drop down menu but not the code or howto to take you to different scenes of your flash. A BIG FAULT ON THIS TYPE OF TUTORIAL.

Anyway I will do as you suggested. Finally if after 5 hours banging my head at simple FLASH code (I think I am quite good at FLASH) I will post the code on this site and keeps fingers crossed for a reply.
