Usage of Sounds in Commercial Projects - Are they free?

    Hi:

Can I freely use these sounds available at Flash Kit in my commercial projects or do I have to pay to get usage license or something?

Just wanted to be sure before I go ahead using them.

    Thanks

So, how do we know if we can use a sound or not? If the sounds are going to be used in a game for example, which sounds are people allowed to use if the product they are using them in is going to be sold?

You look at the page. You read the description. It's not that hard.

Freeware means you can use it anywhere for any reason, however can not resell it. Shareware means some restrictions apply. If you are using it for commercial ventures you contact the author. The link to the author/artist is right on the page.

    Question

So I'm really getting mixed answers right now. Even the dictionary is not clear on "freeware". If I am making a game and want to use sound effects that have the license labeled as Freeware, can I put it in a game, app or project for a client? I am not selling the sound directly, but I am selling the product that the sounds are in. Is that allowed? - That is all I am trying to find out.

I don't know why you are creating more stuggle with this then you need to.
We have terms spelled out on our guideline page
    http://www.flashkit.com/loops/guidelines.php

It's up to you to actually read the guidelines and the usage type on the soundfile itself.

    Having the same problem.

I think the confusion comes in part from the following line..

Loops are royalty free for your use, but all rights remain with
the author, ie. you can use them, but not resell them!

Can I assume this means that we cannot resell them as clips, however if we use them within a project (commercial game), then we may sell the game and not worry about royalties?

I'm gonna use freeware sounds for my game (commercial) only. I will credit the creator of the sound in my game. That should be enough.

Freeware = Public Domain and means that I can use those sounds even for commercial projects like game development, right? Tell me if I'm wrong about that, please...

Just wanted to say that on the guidelines page everything's said about the usage of the audio files, e.g. if you use freeware sounds in your project (whatever it is) then according to the guidelines page it's okay to use them for commercial projects (as long as you don't sell the sounds):

    Code:
You can submit your FX as Freeware (allowing anyone to download and use as they please)
"...and use as they please". Hope all got it now. Nuff said.

It is definitely important to find out the terms of use for any sound effect you want to use. When using music in something, it is much easier to identify copyright breaches than it is with sound effects, and you are much less likely to be taken to task over using sfx outside the terms of their use, but for conscience sake at least......find out the terms before you use something.
