What's the best way to send version updates to customers?

    Hello.

Let's say they bought an alpha version of the game. I release the beta version. I need to send it to 9,500 customers. Emailing it would be tedious. Is there another way to do it?

I personally cannot think of any other way to do this. If you were keeping track of individuals who signed up, like you had an automated email tracking system, this would be a lot easier. Then you could just send an email to everyone in your address book concerning the beta version of the game.

Did you have one of these set up? Or is there a way you can send messages to people in game? Maybe you could send messages out to a couple people to spread the word for you I guess if you did not keep track of sign ups.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Most modern games auto-update via bundled, bootstrapping downloader OR have an automated updating system of some kind. If you didn't include that the first time, you learned a fun lesson for the next project you do.
