How to become a mod?

I program almost every single day and I am constantly on flashkit I have it setup to automatically open with chrome when I turn on my pc. I basically live on this forum whether im using it or not and I always try to prevent arguing and such, I don't want pay I just want mod rank :P is it earned? applied for? Thanks.

Generally speaking - if an when a position is open a thread in the hidden mod forum is created... Mods will then nominate one or members that appear to fit the bill. (knowledgeable/friendly etc)

The member(s) with the most feedback is then contacted and asked if they'd be interested.
