New Wave
Wow, just got a birthday email from flashkit...the only internet site to wish me a happy birthday. I’m 40 years old now. Joined this site when I was still in college. Now I feel old as hell. Wow Gerbick, 18 years. Think about that. When you first joined this site there was a kid who wasn’t even born yet who is now an adult. How you doing man?!? Had many fun times here, message boards were the sh*t, before social media came along and destroyed everything. Still wonder how this place even exists with flash being pretty much dead.

Earliest post on my original account is 2003, not quite 20 years ago. I was 14, with a *ahem* not-entirely-legitimate copy of Flash (though my school later had it properly licensed). I never ended up much good at the design/graphics side of things, but these days I have over a decade of professional C++ experience and my favourite part of the job is teaching/mentoring, so I really appreciate the time much more experienced folks put into helping me back then. It's nice to remember the silly little games I made that only I and maybe two friends played.

Damn this thing is still on.
What a blast from the past. This forum was an obsession of mine for YEARS. Ask any friend of mine from that era and they'll say "yeah that blue and yellow site....." 😆
Love you all ❤️

I remember signing up to Flashkit, probably around 2003. I remember Gerbick from back then.
Used to feel *magical* that the forum just created a new HTML page dynamically back then. I remember the cool Flash 5 / MX animations, Macromedia's website used to be super kewl too. I remember having a weird footer, there were a bunch of rules about what footers could be like. Flashkit was a core part of my life growing up, I remember checking this website many times a day =)
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience!

I also check back every once in a while. Original account is Naked inc.
I cant recover my original account since I have no access to the old hotmail address I used,
If the gerbick the keeper of the light can help me recover my old account it would be greatly appreciated.

When you changed the email address the system sent you a Verification email to help get you back in. You must reply to that. LOL
I sent you an email just now to the acct you used for the CORP acct.

Weird... I think I still have some moderation powers here. But Steve R. Jones is the man that runs things here. But man, Naked Inc.... now that's a name I've not heard in a while.
And it's officially 23 years now for me. Wow.

Always Twirling Toward Freedom
Not sure why we all decided to come back over the last year to see our old friends but I dig it.

It's inspiring to hear how a hobby can turn into such a fulfilling career. I've also had similar experiences where things I enjoyed led to unexpected paths.
