All Software losing custom sockets on mac?

In the release notes for the new air 30 as3.0 it says

    App Transport Security

With macOS 10.11, Apple has introduced App Transport Security (ATS) which mandates that applications use secure network connections over HTTPS only. Because this is a significant change, Apple has provided applications an override via NSAllowsArbitraryLoads which will allow insecure connections.

that's crazy if you can't use a raw socket or xml socket, only https, you should go furnace your mac and make some aluminum ingots.

Or could also mean if you are communicating with a https from your application with no https its not going to work and has nothing to do with sockets..
