    Actionscript 3.0 in 2020 - is AIR a solution?

Hello, I have used AS3 in the early 2000's - 2010 and have taken a break for almost a decade. I am interested in teaching a class around 2Dgames and Animate is an option. The question I have concerns the workflow for publishing an AS3 project to AIR for IOS.

Is it realistic to code a simple 2D game in Animate and expect to be able to play it on an iPad?

I am not interested in being limited by HTML5 Canvas and working with javaScript, rather I would like to work within the Animate UI and code with AS3 and then export the project as an app that can go to the iStore or Steam or something related.

I've read lots on line but am more curious about this community's thoughts as I'm assuming there are people dedicated to AS3, despite the turn of events post mobile devices.

    Thanks in advance!

If you want to do AIR on ios: https://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/bui...70aa-8000.html I don't have any personal experience trying this but I believe that it'd be a terrible idea to go this route for a class. The main reason being that in order for any app to run on an ios device you need a paid membership with apple's developer membership.

I'd suggest trying this first: https://www.macworld.co.uk/how-to/ip...-ipad-3460979/ Not sure if it'll work but it should let you run flash with a browser instead.

Well. I was planning on renting a small office room in around 2021-2022 where I will be hosting the 24/7 server network with my equipment and reattempt to sell in both app markets around those years I dont see you here very often but I dont see why we cant share an account for air apps on ios store and see who's software pay off the apple license first between us.

I should modify what I said earlier, according to this page: https://developer.apple.com/support/...e-memberships/ it's free to develop for your device but the membership cost come in when you want to publish. So you can start by testing things out before you have to pay for things.

ActionScript is still a solution in Desktop & Mobile development, but not in Flash Platform.you can publish your app via Adobe AIR platform(now supported by harman - https://airsdk.harman.com/). The app will allow publish to App Store,Google Play, and PC platform.
ActionScrito was easy to learn, especially in graphics programe. Adobe AIR is keep alive.so just select the tool which you like it,and build amazing app^^

I am working on a business card to advertise the free online air application, to give you an example of whats going on.

I will show you soon the new complicated hd 3d as3 software I am working on but I keep messing up on it, which I want to sell for $2.99 per download on the app store/play store.
