Link in the software sends me to a page that downloads a file called "update.php"
If I try to open it as is, browser returns "unable to open this page" type error.
What gives???

I think you emailed me yesterday and I have responded (twice actually). I tested it myself . The first time I used an url that was incorrectly formed and got your problem. When I used the correct url form, there wasn't a problem. I emailed the correct url to you.
I just tested using a four month old version of KoolShow using three different browsers (FireFox, Edge, Chrome) and didn't have a problem. It should indicate that the file to be downloaded is kssetup.exe.
If you are still having a problem, email me.

Yes, was me . . . but I failed to thank you yesterday. Thanks for your quick response. Have a great evening!

Downloaded file this morning, and tried to install. First, Microsoft Defender SmartScreen throws up a warning. Since I have dealt with you guys in the past, I tell it to "run anyway" as I would with any other software publisher I trust. Then I get this message:
Attachment 75955
Tried downloading it again, same thing. Defective file? Mac version?

There is no Mac version.
There appears to be a problem with the download software. The bytes are correct but the file is defective.
I just emailed you the file (9.3 MB).

KoolShow download problem was fixed and is working OK now.
