Steve:
In addition to Bill's excellent examples,
http://www.2112fx.com/lsaberfl.html
- Darth Maul double-bladed lightsaber (MAX R3)
http://www.2112fx.com/fighter1.html
- Fighter/UFO dogfight (MAX R3 models)
http://www.2112fx.com/trailer
- Everything from an alien, alien ship, planet models,
earth with continents, and a rotating DNA double-helix
model (3-turn). All created with MAX R3, Swift 3D,
and flash
I have many more, but you get the idea.
Vince's demo of death may or may not meet your MAX/Illustrator criteria (I don't know what he used), but it's way cool and a great piece of work.

Actually there's no Max in the DOD3 at all... it's just Flash and Illustrator and Swift3D... (My copy of Max is completely ruined.)

making it all the more appropriate for Steve to view and all the more impressive as both a fine example of 3D and one of the best integrations of 3D and ActionScript I have seen!

Okay I've been having the same problem as Steve. something always go wrong..
But it's cause i'm using Ill 9, and i don't know if it is supported, i keep getting an error message saying file not recognized, so i always have to take it down to ill 8 and then import. But then the damn rendering is too much for my computer to handle, after hours of rendering it is stuck on frame 2, and i get an error message saying not enough memory. I guess 64 megs of ram, and 500megs of specifically alloted virtual memory won't cut it. And all it is a 40 frame rotating logo, with 6500 polygons (that's not much considering it's supposed to handle up to 30,000).
So does anyone wanna help me out and try and render the files for me, from swift 3d files, to .swf files??
here are the links for the files I need converted, they can be sent back to me at dj_sticks@hotmail.com

My regards,

Steve:
Your problem may simply be Vecta. Why don't you zip your MAX scene and e-mail me the URL where I can download it. My e-mail is info@2112fx.com.
I will load the scene into MAX R3, try the Vecta3D-MAX plug-in and export to .3DS and try the latest build of Swift3D. I'll e-mail the results back to you.
Thanks.
