It will basically do this faster. In Vid2swf you can control the image quality and frame-rate. I'm not sure you can do that with your method.

Good luck with your decision and remeber Vid2swf only costs $25.00.

If you care for converting swf to video.
There is a convertor named SWF2Video from flashants for that purpose. It can also convert movie clips while flash5 cannot. check for detail:

Wow, this program is absoloutely STUNNING! Thanks alot, for the mere price of 25.00 I am quite astonished. I bet if Microsoft created this you'd be throwing in the big bucks to obtain it.

    Kudos,

    Vid2swf question

After reading the rave reviews about Vid2swf, I had to download it. I tested it on a few files ranging from 900k - 7MB and it worked fine. But when I tried to convert a 38MB (:38) file nothing happend.

Is there a limit to the size of files you can import? Should I change the setting of the avi? Thanks.

The encoding process is very memory consuming. There is no limit to the size of the video. Try restarting your computer. The only constraint is in the flash player, it was not designed for playing this sort of things.

Man...maybe you're tired of hearing this but this is totally awesome....Just one question - I converted a divx avi to an swf and set the quality at 100 % but the colours are slightly distorted....Is this because its a trial version
or because its a divx video?

    Cheers A.

There might be some quality issues since flash uses the jpeg compression.

    Post vid2flash

    Hello xnxnxn,
I just purchased your vid2swf. I have a video that is 63mb, it already has a sound track sync to the video.
How come when I generate the video to swf I do not get any audio? Also, can the green (VID2flash) text that appears when the swf is playing be removed? I do not have the wav file for the video. it is embeded in the video. I am creating a cd business card in flash and I want to have the video come up on {mouse event}.
Is there a way of imbedding a MS media player on the cd so the customer can view with the media player?
    Thanks for your time!

    1. I usually convert the video files I have into AVI before converting to flash to get the best quality.
    2. In order to sync the audio track, I import the output SWF into flash studio (available only in the non-trial version), and I add the wav file there (change the sync to stream).
    3. Flash player is slow when trying to play long movies. So I usually convert short clips or use a low frame rate in long movies.
    4. Another way to minimize the size of the output is to lower the quality of the images.

    Hope this helps,

The green text is removed once you purchase the software ans use the non-trial version.
