Thread: Supported Video Formats

What video types does flash support when importing them. I know of Quicktime which it handles beautifully but I was wondering if there are any more?

Flash will directly support imported video. You can convert your video to .swf format and then import the .swf into flash.

You should try the vid2flash software which allows users to import video into flash. It will do exactly what you are trying to do.

It basically converts .avi, .mov, and .mpeg into .swf format.

This way your movie does not depend on an external player or format. Instead you can load your .swf into your existing .exe

You can get a free trial here

or buy the full beta for $25.00 from the website.

Flash actually supports quicktime as long as the player is installed on your machine. It imports fine from a .mov into your movie. There is no need to use 3rd party software for that. Does anyone know how to get real media files into flash? I hate real media files but the boss says we have to use them. Thanks
