    Anyone have experience with dropping in the CPU upgrade cards in older PowerMacs? I've inherited an old 8100/100 and am trying to decide if it's worth upgrading it to a more usable computer.

    try this place - they are usually pretty cheap

    you can pick up a G3 upgrade for the older nubus macs for around $150 - $200

    I've got a 8500 with a 250mhz G3 card that i've had for a couple of years and it seems to do ok - you probably won't be able to run anything over 8.6, but it's a good machine if you need something to serve your older peripherials.
