Hi, I have just had my first try at using both flash5 and swish to create a musical slide show. My problem is that the file size is very big and was wondering if there is a way to improve on this.
I added a preloader to load half of the movie first then to play but it still takes an age to load for people on dial-up. I would like it to load virtually straight after clicking on the link.
Any ideas or help much appreciated.

Hi there,
I know this might seem impossible at first, but this is what you need to do.
You will have to split the main movie up into multiple movies and load them into the main movie. This way, you can load in sound and animation etc after the movie has loaded.
If you are using sound and swish etc then expect large files.

Ditto, but I would also recommend downloading MX and using its new dynamic loading of pics (like jpg's etc). Perfect for slideshows.

Thanks for the replies, I will look up how to load multiple movies today and have a tinker around? I will also have a browse around MX
