Unexpected file format – what is this error?

I tried downloading a few different .swi files , such as the scroller in another tread , but each time I get an error message “unexpected file format” but it doesn’t happen every time is their any thoughts or suggestions for correcting this , perhaps I’m doing something wrong?
Even if I download the file and then try to open – same error

Do you have the latest build? Someone DOES have an answer. Try to do a search of previous posts next time.

well Marc, that was a constructive answer

To sum it up for you ...

You need to download the most recent "build" of SWiSH (build #2002.04.17) -- http://www.swishzone.com/download.html (install it over your current version -- do NOT uninstall)

Because of the fact that the answer is only a couple of posts down on this page :
