What ever happened to Flashkit 2.0? And when can we start using our swf footers again?

I don't know if the flash footers will ever be back, the problem is flash player 6 is able to read cookies from the users computer, which is fine when you're placing content in your own site (seeing as your site would've set the cookies in the first place, so it just acts as a convienient way to get their values into flash) however on flashkit anyone can post an swf file to read the cookies (containing usernames and passwords) of anyone who views the swf file. Not a good situation.
Though i'm starting to like flashkit minus footers, my computer doesn't die anymore when I try to read long threads

From what I understand, Flashkit 2.0 is still being worked on - it's a long upgrade process because there are a lot of custom aspects and hacks on the board.
SWF footers might be a ways off - from what I understand, the new version of the player allows for a global disallow for external scripts to access local data through the Flash player, but I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement.
