Hmm...they can't do anything right can they?
Could that figure be based on the fact the average "life" sentence in america is only a few years?

You gotta figure that includes the cost of the Guards and Security features , utilities , everything not just the cable TVs and Workout facilities and Computer , etc.

The most effective way of using the death penalty is an individuals right to bear arms.
Armed citizens stop a crime 10 times more often then the police.
at least in the U.S.
Concerning prisons, I think some money could be saved if we didn't lock people up for smoking plants.
Despite it being a personal choice, should a government want to limit drug use, it has been shown that medical/psychological treatment is at least 10 times more cost efficient.
Or you could mimic a communist revolution and kill all the drug users.

One way to bring the cost down is..no tvs, no computers, no workout facilities.
Prison isn't supposed to be a lock-in (excuse the pun ), it's supposed to be punishment.
A basketball goal and other activities like that is plenty for convicts, IMHO.

In Texas, a death penalty case costs an average of $2.3 million, about three times the cost of imprisoning someone in a single cell at the highest security level for 40 years. (Dallas Morning News, March 8, 1992).

But you see, if we killed all the prisoners, we wouldn't need guards, and then we could get rid of thousands of jobs and save ourselves lots of money (sort of like Enron). But then, those guards would eventually turn into "money-grubbing" welfare recipients...

I wonder if the prison industry lobbies agianst the death penalty the way the lobby agianst drug legalization. I wonder if the lobby for gun control.

And American gun laws are also why you're most likely to be killed by a gun in America than anywhere else in the world, and why certain parts of certain American cities are the most dangerous places on earth.

Your opinion or is there any fact in there?
The day people lose the right to own a gun, is the day they are victims of the government...without any defense.
The founding fathers understood that governments have a nasty way of going bad...just as they needed guns for protection from their former government...the guaranteed american citizens the same right.
I don't know were TGLC got his information on that one..don't know if he's right or not. But I do know that you have a lot of propoganda coming out of you that rarely aligns with fact.
