That's the best way...the programming shouldn't be super hard...at least with asp anyway.

(Which of course depends if you want to allow the client to change formatting or add images, etc...and if you want them to be able to add pages, etc... You should be able to come up with a fairly simple way I'd think.)

    PHP and SSI and CSS

use a PHP page to upload files from their web browser and have the uploaded files be .txt files that are put into the webpages by SSI. And if you like, use CSS to make sure styles are kept...you don't have to, but it works nicely

it shouldn't be too hard to adapt a news script from http://www.hotscripts.com

but i'm not much of a programmer so feel free to ignore me.

why dont you just use a weblog kinda script and link have flash link to the txt file?

seems to be the easiest way, and the client wouldnt even need to know ftp

If you use PHP and mySQL you don't have to use an FTP client.

And I recently was on a big search for a host, and just about all of them had PHP, not many had ASP.

That is because PHP is cross-platform compat (more so then ASP). But, actually ASP is used more then PHP.

I use newspro a lot for this sort of thing. It is an awesome script very easy to install and use. It's also very easy to import into flash as a txt or html file.
