    question about masks

can anyone tell me a way to give a mask
    properties?
i was working with a mask and found a
way to turn a mask into a lens-
IF-i can give the mask properties.
example being for x and y to = mouse.
can i reverse it and give the mouse a mask?
i have not been able to find a way to do
    it yet.
(the button for properties does not
    function for masks)
    thanx,

You can't currently give your mask properties..........

You can however put it in a layer and give the layer properties(make it follow the mouse,etc,etc)...........

Problem is in order to mask an object it will have to be on the same layer, so it will move with what ever is on the layer, including the mask. You could(theoretically) figure out the mathematics to move whatever else is on the layer, in direct opposition to the layers movement, which would make your object appear to stand still while the layer(and mask) are moving. I haven't tried this so you'll have to experiment, but it should work(in theory that is ).............
