audigy 2 is the audigy chip with firewire build in. Nothing new. You want some great sound? try phillips Seismic Edge, Gametheather xp (7.1 sound) or a terratec card.

even the digital out of the audigy has snow in the output. That's really bad!

bah why do you want a 7.1 card in your pc anyway, unless you have 7.1 setup speakers for it which there isnt a great availability of anyway.

ive got a turtle beach santa cruz w/ ada885mg thx/dd speakers and i have to say its a beauty. my only complaint is not with the speakers but the placement of things in the room where my computer is. im forced to have the speakers in a position which does not boast its full capability which sorta p*sses me off after spending quite a ton upgrading to this speaker setup. oh well we are moving anyway so i hope to have a decent room just for the computer(s).

what i want, um too many things, logitech z680's, b&w cm series speakers 7 piece, 2x b&w subs, denon or yamaha av amp, just to name a few.

Yeah, unless you have an ideal room speaker set-up is quite a pain.
