    Default view in windows Xp

Can anyone tell me how to change my default image viewer in windows XP – I installed a new program over the holiday and seems to set itself up as my default and I need Paint shop pro as my default.

Thanks in advance for the help…..Ela

ok, this is a win98 solution..

browse to the pic you want to open
    SHIFT+right click
    choose 'open with...'
    select PSP from the list
and it should be default again

Hi, mouse right click on the paint shop pro file, select "open with"

it shows u a list of programs u have installed and there is a tick box at the bottom (always use selected program.....) either select psp if its in the pop up window or find it on the machine (browse button look for the the ".exe" file) and then tick the always open with box

    that should do it

i havent used psp for years but odds are its in C > program files > used to be JASC (version 3) god i'm old

all u need to do is find the paint shp pro exe and associate the files with it, its quite easy when u find the exe

    good hunting

To permanently change it, open any windows explorer window and go to TOOLS > VIEW OPTIONS > FILE TYPES.

Locate your image type in the list and click the CHANGE button.

There should be a list of programs like Internet Explorer, Photoshop, Windows Fax viewer etc...

If it's not there, click the BROWSE button at the bottom.

Actually Black Phoenix's method works just as well, I didn't read it properly.
