Why would I pay 460 Euro for Dreamweaver, while Notepad is free and lets me do anything I want, just as fast. Also, Notepad will startup much faster than Dreamweaver, and takes up less harddisk space and memory when run. And I've only crashed notepad once or twice
A big yay for Notepad! (the windows nt/2000 version of notepad that is. The windows 95/98 notepad doesn't have the find and replace option.)

Like I've said before - everyone should throw away their html/php/etc editors and start using Notepad more..

Give the pitty program more credit!! It's together with IE one of M$'s best inventions.

Notepad is the only program by M$ that can't kill your computer without action on your part, it must be good!

I'm a purist all the way, and prefer using notepad for everything. Changing directory structure? Just get it right in the first place. I run a web server + mySQL from my machine, so seeing everything live is simple & 100% realistic.

Notepad is very cool and I for one still use it to make fast and quick changes. For simple link corrections etc you can make the chnage before DW has even booted up! However, you just can't beat dreamweaver for precise layout control and making complex tables quickly. It's a great product.

Has anyone tried my companies app, Firestorm Remote Edit? It combines a simple WYSIWYG editor with a source code editor but it lets you edit files directly from your webserver - saves you time uploading and downloading files! You can grab a copy from http://www.multidmedia.com - love to know what you think.

    Thanks

Why use Photoshop when you can buy a pencil and paper?
