    buying 'small' laptop - advice?

    I'm looking for a small laptop, something that I'm going to use for mobile data stuff (spreadsheets etc) and also for grabbing photos and maybe video. The kind of thing I'm looking for is like the c-series sony vaio;

    that's a good size, sort of half normal laptop size. I'd like something that slip into a small bag easily.

    the sony is the only thing I can find which comes close to these kind of specs, and it's an option but a couple of things bug me about it, the specs are a bit off the pace and it comes with this camera thing I would have no use for (but have to pay for), plus I'm sure there's something out there that looks slicker

    anyone know of anything else like this, this kind of size with a 1.5mhz+ cpu, 512megs, 30gig+ hd, firewire/usb, wireless/bluetooth, etc. I'm not too bothered about DVD/CD drives - which would have to be external on something this size. I'm not after a clie or a PDA, I need something with a decent keyboard that I can plug a mouse into.

    cheers

    why not the Sony U3 or the U101? Toshiba still makes the Libretto, I believe.

    sorta pricey, but cool nonetheless.

    I'm going to take a look at a libretto though I can't find anywhere that sells the U3 locally, though it looks like what I need. I'll see what I can find today, cheers!

    You don't think those are too underpowered? They look really cool though.

    on my original topic I was looking at one of these today in a sony center and it's a little bigger than I was thinking but it's very smart and would still fit into a carry on type bag easily.

    vaio PCG-TR1A

    there's a waiting list though
