Mac vs. PC
If you are running XP you need at minimum 256MB of RAM because of the visual junk on it, unless you decide to turn it off like I do. It guzzles too much. I have been in graphic design for about 5 years and 99% of the time we used Macs. At home though I have always used the PC I built. If you are serious into graphic design and video editing and what not, I would suggest getting at least 1 gig of RAM, a 128MB video card or higher, and either a dual processor system, or 2.7GHz processor, and two large HDD's to store video and files on. Only my suggestion though, everyone has their own setup and people do things differently. I'm just giving info on my experiences. I have never owned a Mac because they are so damn expensive and I can build a better PC for a lot cheaper but I am still going to get one sooner or later. The only Mac item I own is the big ass 23" display which, yes, I could have bought a Mac for ($2k) but it is worth it =P Im saving up again for a Mac. Having a large display gives you a lot of workspace for high-res projects. Anyway...I am going to stop rambling on.

Never quite understood why more people don't build their own clones. I'm using an old StarStation LXE server tower [date stamped 1995]. It's about 25 inces tall and has room for 6 inserts. I've got 2 hard drives, one in a removable drawer. I prefer to stay with Intel boards and processors, and have upgraded this one twice now. And about ready to do it again. I'm using a 2 year old Intel 815 MB with a 1 Gig P3. Last time I upgraded, this was pretty fast and I was into building html sites and doing internet based work. Now that I use flash, I need more, bigger, faster and better. As long as I can stay with Windows 98 SE. LOL. That, I won't part with. Just like I won't upgrade to MX 04.

I've never owned a PC and never understood why there is even two types of computers. I have been a mac buyer my whole life and I love everything about it. I have used PCs but I have never liked it. The only thing thats appealing to me is the gighz per dollar and that they are very customizeable. I hate windows though. I really don't think the battle will last forever though. I think PC and Mac will combine strengths on day and we'll never have multi platform probs again!
P.S. I like your logo Flashbax.

Oh no, I don't believe that. Then they couldn't ping pong us and make money on every return.
Mac's and PC's are just tools. PC's were made to surf the net and do office work, Mac's were made to crunch numbers. The problems come when you try to make one do something it wasn't designed for.
