I'm dyin' here. I am trying to make a huge game, multiple levels all loaded using loadmovie.

Now, how do ya pass tell target instance commands to the main timeline, like if I wanted to keep the scoreboard seperate from all the movies? And how can I show the score in each loaded movie? Any ideas are welcome

    I have found the solution

Tell targets can be used between multiple loaded movies using different levels. If anyone is interested in this gimme a reply and I'll lay it all out straight from the Flash 4 Bible.

since you have delt with some recent telltarget reserch, mabey you could help answer a question for me:

Do you know how to target the main timeline from a movie clip . Ive seen it done using _level10/ instead of an instance name but it dosnt work for me.

    whats up with dat?!

    Thanks

    Do it like this :

    Begin Tell Target ("/")
Go to and Play (frame you wanna advance to)
    End Tell Target

    How about...

What is you saved the score or whatever on the users computer as a cookie or something. And have the swf with the score on it reload by looping so it loads the information from the computer every .5 sec or so. I'm not sure how to use cookies effeciently so youll hafta ask someone else on that, but i do know it involves javascripting and either get url or fs command. Just an idea.

No I was speaking about a multi-level game that uses load movie for each new level but keeps score, lives, etc, all in the main timeline, but I have it figured out.
