[disc/help] Rag Dolls Are Cool
Does anyone (I know someone does) know how ragdoll physics works? I'm not asking for a tutorial or FLA (would be nice though ) but rather how the pieces/joints affect each others. I've tried several times to do this on my own but when I try to have each object move according to the other, it flies off into infinity. Any help is appreciated.

This will keep me busy for a while, but do you know anything about how something like Trials on Miniclip works? I've been playing a lot of Halo lately and the Warthog physics OWN! I was thinking how much fun it would be to make a 2d sidescroller like that, just driving and jumping and stuff.

I haven't seen Trials, when ever I try to play it, I just get a splash screen telling me to I have to play at a certain time.
But by the look of it, it's just a motorcycle that can go off jumps, so the way I'd do it is to have two circles use math based collision on the ground, and attach a motorcycle pic over it.
Sorry if I didn't explain that well, I'll try to elaborate later today.

That should be the loading screen. It says start Time at 16:45 or something like that, right? Just wait a minute and it should finish loading, you'l know cause you'll hear the sound of the motor on the bike

Trial Bike is an awesome game. I tried to make my own version in flash but it's pure crap right now. I can't get it.
In fact I don't understand how I should write the physics code. Does it need a special order to function (front wheel first, then rear wheel, then the bike,...) or do all elements have to be completely autonomous ?
I can post my file if someone wants to look in.
On a side note, I remember an IK driven skeleton, made by wireframe studios. That would be the way, but I still don't know how they made it... =/

I remeber seeing that awhile ago, but not really being interested. I found a mirror with Google:

Too bad no FLA =(

Ragdoll Kung Fu
If you are interested in rogdolls, you might want to check this pc game out:
"Imagine having a Kung Fu Fight with string puppets, except you don’t have to worry about getting the strings tangled up, and you don’t have to have a kung fu fight.
You control the characters on screen with the mouse – there are no pre-scripted animations in the game – it’s all up to you – to walk, you have to literally pick up one foot, then place it in front of the other."
It's being developed by Mark Healey at Lionhead, a big uk games developer, as a personal project.
