when it waas supposed to be 11 it is 10. that means one hour less in the clock, making you win 60 minutes extra.
I have a feeling it's the other way around in Australia - Summer's coming!

Does make you think though. If they go forward an hour and we go back an hour their must be a time-rift of two hours or so in the middle of Asia somewhere.

if we kept the same time we would probably end having lunch time at midnight. days last approx 24 hours and some minutes. is the same as the leap year. years are not 365 days long. they are 365 and a quarter of a day. therefore after 4 years, you have an extra day, and to keep the year order you have to take it out. because if not you would end having new year's eve in the middle of summer ( north hemisfere here )

about energy saving, in summer because days are longer, you gain an hour to use up sun's light instead of having your light switched on the same time as in winter. this could provoke energy overrides.
Actually it is because would rather wake up to sun than moon. In the winter the days are really short (here in norway) so if you wake up an hour later you think you wake up in the day and not in the night. It is obviously a stupid idea now that most people have simple jobs and don't have to work outside and such. They should just get rid of it. Oh, and about the cows, that is a myth, the cows get a long just fine

WHAT! i still don't get it. we lose an hour and gain an hour every year...they cancel eachother out.

its done at stratigic times during the year tho.

during the winter to have people use there lights at a certain time since its darker sooner.

It doesn't matter, either way, when you don't wake up till noon.

Yes, the whole of WA thinks that the cow's milk will curdle and that's why we don't have daylightsavings.
