    Very impressive, it looks like bitmap but it must be vector to scale so smoothly. Normally these things reload a sharper bitmap the closer you zoom in but this one seems too smooth for that. Very impressive.

    It could be a video sequence going frame by frame.

    It's just a bunch of images with holes in the middle loaded dynamically. Once you get close enough, load the next picture, etc etc, you can see seams in certain places. This is also extremely old.

    the idea is old but the way they did it was very good. Good artwork, almost seamless (you can zoom in and seem the little seams)
