Flash 8 won't publish my HTML
Hi. It worked yesterday, but today I can't get Flash 8 to publish my HTML. I have not changed any settings. It publishes the SWF fine, but doesn't create the HTML file. I followed the instructions at http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash...=00000090.html
About 1 out of 3 times it locks up completely, and must be ctrl-alt-delete end-tasked.
The only thing I did since yesterday was uninstall the flash 8 plug-in for Firefox and re-install the flash 7 plug-in. After it didn't work I tried a "repair" of flash 8 professional. That didn't work. Next I uninstalled the entire product (just FP8, not entire studio) and reinstalling it. I currently have a dead flash that I'm going to end-task on when I'm done with this post.
Very frustrating. We'll see if anybody here or at MM can fix it. If not, I'll be testing their return policy!!!

I'm attempting to uninstall EVERYTHING in Studio 8 right now. Its a little frustrating to me that it doesn't provide this option. I have to go through each separate application and uninstall it individual.
Why do companies publish crap? I'm a software developer so its my biggest pet peeve. If something is complete garbage, don't release it. Wait until it works and then release it. Instead they waste my day and the days of all the other people in the world that try to use their buggy, unfinished software.

Latest information; Uninstalling everything and reinstalling did nothing. But I CAN publish the HTML if I designate it as a flash 7 file, rather than a flash 8 file in the publish settings. Other project seem to publish fine as flash 8 files.
Is there a way to tell flash to "regenerate" or some wierd thing? I just spent a week building this project. I'm not redoing it.

I have this same problem. Simple fla:s work but with bigger projects no HTML. Flash locks up and I get pissed off.
So I worked around it by publishing simple.swf + simple.html then published bigger.swf. After that I delete simple.swf and rename the file bigger.swf ---> simple.swf.

So? Just embed it yourself.

Save & Compact?
You probably have a particular piece of media that isn't "playing nice". LIke a corrupted image file or something too large.
