    What reading do you recommend?

    I don't know squat for Actionscript and I was wondering what people recommend reading to learn it.

    Anyone recommend, "SAMS Learn Actionscripting in 24hours" for a beginner actionscript book?

    read Actioncript the definitive guide by colin moock.
    Any programming language is at its best before it is implemented and used.

    Moock's definitive guide 2nd ed is a great intro to ActionScript, but beyond AS 1 (Flash Player 6), the best thing I'm aware of is the Flash 8 and Flash MX 2004 language ref files at http://livedocs.macromedia.com/.
