what do you think about this combat system for my new game
it's just a start to an RPG im working on but i still find it entertaining (ignore the gfx for now)

Controls:
mouse = look around
a = attack (a successful attack will spark red)
d = defend (face attacker to block. a successful block will flash white)
w = move forward
s = move back
q = quality (not much graphics but i was going to put one in anyway)
How to play:
click blue button to create an enemy. Wait for it to approach you and defend until it attacks (the black bar depletes), then attack it while before the white bar depletes to damage it. You can have up to 4 enemies at a time (which is very difficult)
btw: my swf runs at a constant 20 fps with no dip, why is the HTML version (which i thought was A LOT faster... running slower?)

Positive Feedback:
I thought the animation was excellent
I liked how you could tell when the enemy was going to attack
Negative Feedback:
I didn't like the controls
I had a hard time controlling the character
Person A: I can kickflip caveman into a 360 fingerflip.
Person B: Yeah right...
Person A: Watch.
Person A: *Hits Person B in the head w/ board*

Its nice as long as you are fighting one person other wise is realy bad. I dont think they would alwayts have the shild up all the time because it got boring waiting for them to put it down and they only did if i was directly infront of them.

PS: maby have it when you hit them unsucessfully they have a re bound like bump backwards and if you hit them 2 times good they fall over and run away to get ready for another att.
Sorry if the other post was a little harsh, i do like it a fair amount

great.. i like it, the controls were a bit hard at first but I got used to them. Love to see it whens its finished

Great start! The only thing that I didnt like, was that if you back your self
off screen, you can't get back in the game, so the enemy attacks you till
you die. Pretty good other wise.
EDIT: When you die, how come you are just put out of the stage?
I could tell because when you die, the enemy goes up to the top,
and starts to attack you. Try to put up an ending screen.

Very cool. Has potential. Unfortunately, like everyone else said, the controls are kind of weird...

its a little slow and cumbersome. Hard to comment now.
I'd change the hero's origin to its center, give the player an option to use mouse targeting (click to change between modes, would give that hand some use), or use the mouse for attacking.
