    Video editors

I've got a 160MB AVI movie. I want edit out the beginning and end, cut the audio, reduce the dimensions and compress it in order to transfer it electronically elsewhere. Anyone know any video editors that are free or have trials that will do this for me?

    Anyone at all?

VirtualDub is an open source editor that is great. Simple yet powerful...not like premier or Vegas but it should do what you want.

I'm not that hard to imitate. Just make some random negative claim at Apple or anything else for that matter and then have nothing to back it up.

speaking of this...is there any special ways you should output video to DVD?

The reason i ask this is that i edited video a client gave me, and they wanted it on DVD...i've tested the video, but after 2 or 3 plays in the DVD player it starts to skip??? Is it the DVD or is it the way i've 'exported' the file?

I would definately take it to a DVD authoring program and burn it. I've user ULEAD and NERO...like both of them.

No you can use your Editing software to do that. what i am saying is that you should use a good authoring program. Ulead and Pinnacle are what i use.
Pinnacle is the best for me.
