Ice Cube has signed on to play the title role in a film adaptation of the classic 1970s TV series Welcome Back, Kotter...

The Hot Chick's Tom Brady has signed on to write and direct Kotter.

This must be another piece of entertainment muck scraped from the bottom of the same barrel where they found the idea to pit the actor who played the original Horshack against the actor who played Screech on 'Saved by the Bell' in a celebrity boxing match. I came across that and it was like watching a car wreck...I wanted to look away, but I just couldn't. Naturally the fifty or sixty year-old Horshack got his butt handed to him. They ended up stopping the bout because he was getting pounded so bad. You've got to really be hurtin' for cash to sign up for something like that. It was truly a pathetic sight to see.

I couldn't stop there, though. The bouts that followed matched up William 'The Refrigerator' Perry vs. Manute somebody or other who is apparently the tallest guy in the NBA. So you've got this really out of shape fat man (the fridge has really let himself go) against this 7-foot tall stick figure. The guy looked like he was going to snap in half in you breathed on him too hard. After some time of Manute lamely poking at Perry the ref actually told them if they didn't fight they weren't going to get paid. That sparked 'em up a little bit, but I've seen far more exciting scraps in a schoolyard. For the curious who didn't see it and are wondering...they gave the bout to Manute just because he threw more weak girly puches than Perry did.

The last contest in this celebrity parade of shame put Joey Butafuco against wrestling girl Chyna. That didn't go any better than you would expect, either...
