to ray: thought wmode doesn´t only have negative impact on mozilla/netscape close browsers but also has negative impact in some other browsers which normally act closer to ie and therefore don´t use the embed tag part,so you could go sure wmode is really only used in ie this way, but yeah, anyway, after all its really most sense making to not use wmode param at all .

I've run tests with the browser vs fp and the frame rate drops in browser without using up extra processor. In some cases the game int he browser actually uses up less processor.

It seems like more of a weird software problem than a hardware one. Rather than using up more resources, it just calculates the frame rate weird.

Can anyone verify this on their machine?

It is a s/ware problem, it's 'cause of the nature of activeX plug-ins.

OK I'm sorry to drag this thread on even longer, but I just did some tests and FOR ME, we're not talking about a definite 5 frame drop in performance. If I publish for 30, then yes I get 25 fps. But that does not mean publishing for 35 ends up giving 30 as has been stated before, even by ME! :-D

My latest project, I just published at 35 and I get 33! (which later drops to 32). So I think you have to kind find a balance and then just be happy with whatever you get. Heheheh. (PS: IE 6.0)

Imho IE is best, as it has full compability with everything while FF has problems with alot of stuff. People always say to someone that prefer IE:

    - You like IE???, are you nuts?? you like getting Spyware and such??

Well, I don't bother with them as stuff like that has never caused any problems for me, heck, I don't even use a virus program...

So.... IE is the best... imho

IE is slower than Firefox for surfing. IE is better for flash games, but for general surfing, I find firefox much better to use.
    Tsehehehehehe
