[ Flash 8 ] video not playing

Spent far too long searching for answers today.....

So I made up a Flash video, very easy, until I want to set the style of the FLV Playback controller.

All I really wanted to do was change the default "halo" from lime green to, well, blue.

So I find out I have to make a new skin, ( ClearExternalAll_MySkin.fla for example ) which I do.

But the controller doesn't show up on the web.

So I put the new contoller in the same directory, and point the FLV playback component to it in a relative manner, and YES I can see the controller once I ftp it to the server, although the movie is now not playing back anymore.



I liked the good old days when you could set the style of the component to "haloblue" or whatever with one line of code.

... any tips greatly appreciated.

OK, the video's weren't playing locally either, couldn't get any sound from youtube video's, thus tried a reboot and all is now well.

( Win 2000 pro )

No idea what was going on.
