    Problem with IE

i've noticed that a bunch of my sites now render this strange gray box around embeded flash elements in Internet Explorer. It's on multiple sites, completely different projects. Sometimes these are on sites that have been up, running, and untouched for months at a time. Any ideas ? Seems to do it on the initial mouse over.

It is a common problem with flash sites on IE. Occurred in early spring, has something to do with IE no longer supporting the Active X control required. See estudioworks's thread about embeding flash the right way. It is at the top of the Flash MX threads.
