I'd insert a cron that would randomly pick people when they connect to the Exchange server to send out odd messages about themselves. And hide it on the storage server and have it attach itself to roaming profiles and/or terminal/Citrix user profiles.

Sue their asses off ... as otherwise it could hurt your career and reputation.

If you do not take legal action ... (or threaten it anyway) you are admitting fault/guilt.

When they offer to lay you off instead ... demand a decent compensation package based on your years of service. Being straight out fired is a stain on your record. Also demand a decent reference letter that your lawyer views (some reference letters are written *under protest* and show it through the phrases and verbage used therein)

pps. as tempting as it is ... DO NOT do anything that could come back to haunt you (viruses, key-loggers, time bombs on software... etc...) unless of course, all hope is lost, and you plan to retire or grow stuff in the woods hereafter.

Actually there is still one server that we can't get onto, but it is a development server so nothing that is live is affected.
