This is a VERY rough draft of something I'm working on. Some of these elements or ideas will end up as separate "load movies" and of course much of it will change completely by the time I'm done. I just wanted to get a little early feedback in case I'm totally headed in the wrong direction. The little planet thingies will, of course, wind up as buttons. (Does it bother anybody that their bright spots are centered as opposed to facing the sun more?)

    Anyway, here it is:

Just a personal preference, but i think flipping it would be better, maybe its because i am right handed, but i would like to see the sun on the left and the planets on the right. And also maybe tilt the planets more along the same angle as the sun. I like the idea....and I don't know depends on how visible you want the buttons...to be accurate yeah they should have more light on the surface that is facing the sun...but that would make the buttons less visible...try it out though.

I agree with Brad on the left hand sun thing. I also think that perhaps labels on the buttons might help usability. It looks neat though.

Okay, I didn't flip the orientation yet, but I did put all of the planets on sort of the same angle as the sun and I took away the framing for a more open look. Now, to me anyway, it kind of leads your eye to the sun. Any takers for sun on the right now? No? Gotta be left, huh?

The sun looks fine on the right to me. It's all personal preference I guess.

How about fading the suns light more, if you don't want to flip the orientation. I assume you are using gradients to make up the sun, just have more of the "light" in the planet area, that way it kind of gives a line of sight, that draws the eyes across the planets and too the sun, and then maybe you can have something in the center of the sun, flashing, words maybe...just some suggestions
