Links in forums picked up by search engines?

First off, sorry if this is the wrong forum but I couldn't find anywhere to put this... I'm just curious, if I post a link to a site in a thread here will it get picked up by search engines? I want some design feedback on a site but my client does not want it picked up by any search engines at the moment.
