Sorry to ruin your memory about that but it is possible to do that. You just take the bike, hold it by the grip on the handle bar and the bike seat and then start running. Then when you can't run any faster you give it a shove. The bike will go for a bit before falling over once it loses momentum. This may have been what you saw but if it didn't fall over...

By go down the street, it took the curve, was peddling, avoided the pothole in the middle of the road... it moved.

Not the straight-line you were thinking that every kid did by pushing their bike from behind and letting momentum push it forward.

Seems that I have to go into detail to point out the very obvious that this wasn't a typical situation. I thought it was implicit.

Sorry I didn't take into concept that you'd not be able to catch that obvious collection of "similar things"... just like on Sesame Street.

When i was 6 i remember playing hide and seek with friends and i saw the boy next door tossing off in the bushes lol. Never looked at him the same way again.
