How do I import a BMP into koolmoves ? Can it only be imported to trace, or can I import the BMP itself and then add movement to it ?

    Thanks,

You don't need to go through the step of importing.

If you want to fill a shape with a bitmap, double-click on one or more selected shapes, click on Interior Color/Type (maybe this should be renamed) in the Properties Dialog, select the bitmap fill option, and select the bitmap file. Alternatively, you can use the Fill Shape toolbar button on the lower left to select solid color, gradient, or bitmap fill. If you want to have a background bitmap, select Movie/Background Image and select your bitmap.

Bob, I tried that and my BMP is tiled within the shape. Is there anyway just 1 image of my bitmap can be centered in the shape ?

    Thanks in advance.

Tiling of the bitmap is the correct behavior.

There are two ways to do what you want: 1) create another shape (rectangle, no border, same size as the bitmap) and fill it with your bitmap and center it over the original shape, or 2) create a bitmap that has your bitmap centered within it.

Another way you can get those Bitmaps in there is by vectorizing and exporting as a WMF. Stardraw will do this (available free for download as part of Star Ofice or as part of Star Impress) note that only 32 or so colors will make it when you convert your graphic.

Corell Traceman, Adobe Illistrator, and kvec (shareware- $30) will also vectorize bit maps.

is an intresting place to look if you are interested in vectorizing bitmaps.
