Media player question
Hi,
I am trying to embed a media player on a webpage to play mp3 files. The player shows fine online however no sound due to the fact that I have no idea where I need to place my mp3 audio files on my server side. Do I need to place any additional code on my webpage to get this media player to play my mp3 files?
I have had success in placing media player to show .flv videos.
Please someone simplify this for me since the user guides and tutorials do not even hint at a fix for this issue. Perhaps someone out there could update the tutorials/help section of koolmoves to include server side file placement etc.

Hi,
The media player I am attempting to embed is one of the preconfigured media players found within the koolmoves package. I can post any of the video players and get the .flv placed properly server side so my videos play.
Now I am simply attempting to place one of the preconfigured audio players also found within the koolmoves package.
I have exported the media player etc to .swf and placed it on the intended webpage and have it uploaded on the site. The player shows up fine. Now all I need to know is where I need to place the mp3 files and if I need additional code placed anywhere special or what? I tried placing the mp3 files in the same folder as the .flv files that I have functioning via media player online, no luck.

if you put the file names in the playlist without a path then they go in the same directory.

I am confused. If the "They" you speak of are the mp3 files, I have tried placing them in several locations on my server. No luck, just a fricking mp3 player skin that is so cool you can toggle through the titles of the songs without sound. I can not believe that I can make the video players work with .flv files and have no luck at all with the mp3 files. Thanks for the attempt at helping, I will just turn and walk away totally defeated by this (edited) nightmare.

Are you sure the casing of the filenames on your computer is the same as on the server. You wouldn't be the first one that has his ftp program set to convert all filenames or extensions to lowercase.

(edited) this software. Zero success getting mp3 files to play via koolmoves audio player.
Would someone simply write out instruction from a to z on taking an mp3 audio media player in koolmoves and getting it successfully working on a webpage. I use netobjects fusion. I have never had issues like this before. I post tons of .flv videos online and have no issue or problem getting video to fire off on web pages.
I have exported the audio player as .swf from koolmoves and then placed it in html page with netobjects fusion. I loaded the mp3 files into netobjects fusion "assets" folder and uploaded the site. The player shows but no sound. The player toggles through the mp3 titles.
I look at my server side and see that the mp3 files are in my "/assets/multimedia/ folder". The .swf is in another directory. I have tried placing the mp3 files into the directory containing the .swf and still nothing. Gee, at least I can use koolmoves to place video online. GEE, JUST LIKE BEFORE I BOUGHT KOOLMOVES.

Ok calm down already.....
I doubt it has anything to do with Koolmoves directly.
For starters not everyone uses netfusion whatever that is.
Frequently the problem with files is the difference between windows and Unix. On a Windows machine the file names can be upper or lower no matter and spaces are not a problem. HOWEVER on a Unix server the file names ARE case sensitive and spaces can be a problem. so CHECK the filenames are EXACTLY the same case. This is most likely the problem.
I've made numerous skins and never did more than upload the mp3 files along with FLV and JPG into the same folder.
show me a link to your site or the folder with the player and attache the fun file for the player and I guarantee we can figure it out quickly.
