resolved [RESOLVED] Moving a clip from fla to fla

I'm trying to place an animation effect into the target fla's banner- the section above the button - please see attached but it's not as straightforward as I thought. Can anyone help?

    Maybe try something like this...

    Open 'effect' fla.
Select the entire timeline for all layers.
Right click and select copy frames.
    Open 'target' fla.
    Select insert new symbol.
    Give it a name ('effect').
Select the first frame, then right click and select paste frames.
(This should now look just like what you copied.)
Go back to the main timeline.
Drag the effect movie clip from the library to the stage.

The effect takes place at the top left of the banner whenever I do this- I just can't seem to get it centred on the banner?

Unfortunately, that definitely doesn't work. Perhaps the code in the effect fla needs updated to F8/ AS2?

Can't open your flas. I've only got MX2004.
Is this the same effect from your other post? or is this a different one?
Yes, 'effect' needs to be AS2, if 'target' is set for AS2.

It's a different effect. I've saved both flas in MX2004 format- please see attached.

Positioning adjustments can be made in the 'txtFX' movie clip, frames 1 and 4.
    See attached file...

Perfect! You did it again. People should doff their hats and throw you lots of money. Thanks again.
