Embedded Quicktime won't show up!
Ok, so I don't know if I am posting this in the right forum... but I am having a ton of problems with an embedded .mov in Flash CS3... its viewing fine when i test the movie while its in flash, and then while its on my machine, its still in the .swf, but once its on the web or sent to someone else, its not showing up. As if its not linked right or something, but I had selected embed entire movie in the options, so I don't see why this would happen.
Also I am not sure if this is connected, but I have never had this problem before when I have no embedded video in my flash animation, but once its uploaded to the server, and I go to the web address, the entire swf doesnt even look like its loading... I made the index.html page in dreamweaver and every other attribute that the page has is there, other than the swf..
SO CONFUSED, please help!

how did you encode the quicktime file - what codec did you use? If it was mpeg2 then you will need the pro version of quicktime to play it back...

im sorry, im not an expert, so all i did was go into flash, and choose the 'import video' option...
I am making a website and the client wants the video to play as part of the intro and have words flash during the video, so i needed to put the video into the timeline.
the problem comes when i publish the flash file and try and play the .swf... the video within the flash file doesnt even show up, all the other elements do.

Can you tell me some more information about the quicktime file? things like codec used, file size and bitrate.
If you have flash CS3 or CS4 I would advise you to use the flvplayback component as this will work much better than embedding a video file on the timeline....**shudders**

I am having a similar problem
Flash CS3
FF/Safari
Dreamweaver CS3
I am working on a flash project that needs to have embedded video examples - the original video is .mov and I have used the built in flash importer to convert it to .flv...It plays fine from my HD but it doesn't play after I upload to the web - I have uploaded all the files including the skin....any ideas?
The video is supposed to be on the "home" page...
You can look at it here:

http://appserv.mnstate.edu/stt/kelic...arryYazzie.flv
I have been trying to get this to work for months - it seems like it should be simple but it just isn't working. I tried using all the flash import options except for embed because the embed had the warning (do not use this if u have audio etc). - Well my vid has audio so I haven't selected that. I really want to avoid having the video actually in the timeline - I would prefer it be linked... Any ideas why it works locally just fine but not on the remote server?
