    Flash Form 508 Compliancy

Hey... I'm probably not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I have to find out if Flash Form is 508 compliant.

I'm not even sure if this is the right place to find out, but couldn't get any answers from the manufacturer.

I have read the string of posts, and found it quite interesting, have checked out the checklist which is helpful... but can anyone tell me... is Flash Form able to create eLearning that is 508 compliant... and if so... where can I find the details?

Thanks for any help you can provide

    Define compliant?

Check in the source files for the player for fc_accessibilty.as, this defines all the item names sent to the screen reader, button handlers for keyboard input and the tab order for buttons. That's about it.

Having built sever e-Learning delivery applications similar to FlashForm, I'm not impressed with it.

All I seem to do these days is 508 Compliant flash... It's sort of a pain, but also really fun and rewarding. The key things - 1) Use the accessibility pane. 2) Use accessibility actionscript. 3) Use lots of setFocus. 4) Test often since some components tend to trap flash's focus.

Good, then I'll be contacting you if we need to do any hardcore 508c work on our stuff again, for companies like IBM that actually give a crap.

It's a terrible pain in the ass and I have no patience for it.
