Thermal scope is more trouble than it's worth. You're basically blind on any bright maps.

I'd honestly say get a Gamefly account and be done with it. You'd be able to go through games at your own pace for much less per year than buying a game, then beating it senseless in under 10 hours and whining about it like you tucked your manhood and pinched it on a vinyl covered seat.
Not saying you'd do that... just saying look into Gamefly. Especially when the single player campaign mode of MW2 lasts people under 7 hours.
Left For Dead 2 has my attention on the 360. But I'm a PS3 man - I have to be since Subway left us.

Damn I didn't even think of that! Good call. When I had netflix I was flying through movies. I'm definitely going to look into that. Is the service as good as netflix for anyone who has had both? I would ship out a movie and in 2 days have the new one already in the mail. Amazing service.

As I'm not a fan of RPG's prety much 95% of the time I don't keep up with those titles. But a friend of mine really wants to get into a good rpg and was wondering if anything worth the time is out there on 360?

The new one from BioWare, Dragon Age looks epic. I simply can't make the time investment anymore.

I'm not a big fan of 3rd person shooters. Never got into anything like the Rainbow 6 series.

Apparently some people may or may not have been given a trojan after connecting to other players through matchmaking that took the place of dedicated servers.

oh no, do not get it twisted. i never had any intention of EVER buying MW2 for the PC. Not after they crippled it, and certainly not after this recent possible virus spreading thats going on.
I still recommend you buy any FPS that has not been crippled by "match making" for the pc. choose who you play with, Enjoy the free custom made content. do not take for granted the pin point accuracy of the mouse and keyboard.

Yeah I feel the same way actually. It's a tough middle ground for me though. For the most part, I've never been a big fan of player made content, mod, augments etc. It's like teenagers who lower their trucks. Some engineer spent 12 years in school to learn how to make that truck ride as smooth, resist shock and get the best gas mileage possible. How is some kid going to "improve" on that by mod'ing it. Game dev companies put years of experience into level design (albeit some better than others) in order to balance a reasonable amount of sniper spots, weapon drops, cage-less arenas and reachable platforms. A big reason I stopped playing Unreal is because I couldn't find an un-modded server with a decent number of players. In that aspect, I actually like the controlled playing field of a console.

but for all the bad mods, there are some really great ones, Counterstrike and The original team fortress for example.
Free mods so good they became commercial games.

I have to agree I love seeing the stuff that "normal" people put out there since it is usually something the original game dev never thought of, didn't have the time/budget, or were too scared to publish it. But it's a crap shoot and it's usually 1/10 are alright.
I am dying to get my hands on BLACK MESA. They said a 2009 release so it's gotta be coming soon!

Yes there are the occasional gems. I think Valve even hired the Team Fortress dude.
