If I understand your problem correctly it looks like you have object drawing selected.
select the line tool or pencil tool.
at the very bottom of the tool bar you will see a magnet, right above that is a circle.
This toggles object drawing on and off.
off will give you regular lines without the rectangles around them.
quick question for you, how do you put images in your post like that?

Yes, yes yes!! it was it! And for your question: i made a site on webs.com. So i put some images in there. Then i right click the image and click on (copy image address). You got the imagem link. then i click on "Insert Image" in here and it asks for a link, so you put the image link and click OK. That's it =). Thanks

Thanks for the image embed info
The drawing mode you wanted is called merge mode. The original way Flash drew everything. Object mode is new.
overlapping shapes cut each other in merge mode. Not in object mode
