Computer problem!!
Hey, I really have no clue what to do in this situation. My laptop(VAIO, 2 years old almost) is randomly going nuts graphically. In the last 5 hours every like 30 mins the screen just starts going crazy, I don't know how to describe it besides that its all distorted. I can't see anything recognizable, so I'm not sure distorted is the right word. I did a system restore and the problem is still occurring. Its not all the time, but it has even happening during boot up before windows starts. Anyone have any suggestions how to analyze or solve this issue before my computer is no longer usable?

maybe just a bad driver, but it really sounds like a failing hardware issue.

Sounds like a video driver messing up or a hardware issue between your video card & screen. Have you googled to problem to see if anyone else has reported the same issue?

N' then I might just Jump back on An' ride Like a cowboy Into the dawn ........To Montana.
Now that is a useful search result under the circumstances. Have you confirmed your laptop is one of the affected machines and checked to see if you have Nvidia graphics chip?

Reminds me of the time my old Mustang broke down due to an engine issue, only to find out a day later that there was a recall that covered it (and it was a $2500 repair).
