can't get this to work right...

i have a movie that has a tweened symbol on the main timeline which i need to put 3 buttons inside of so that they move with it as it moves.
in addition to that i need it so that when one of the three buttons is clicked it will remain in the down state (and reset another button if it is up)

i've tried several techniques but it never seems to work right or nothing happens at all (maybe due that the buttons aren't actually on the main timeline).

    please somebody help.

maybe there is a way i can hook the buttons to the tween on the main timeline to get them to move accordingly?

my last resort is to manually put a button in each 110 frames of the main timeline and position them one by one and i'm not even sure if that would work
