Simple Widescreen Flash auto-resize per screen resolution?
Hello,
Im new here as you can see,
I am making a website, a very simple design for my photography.
Here is a screenshot so it makes better sense what im about to try and explain:

The slideshow that you see will be on the front page, and I have already made the flash file for it, and it works great. You hover over the right/left edge of the slideshow and it scrolls right/left showing more images.
Its a very simple website design,
I was just using a few divs to get the job done, the flash movie in its own div.
My problem is, I have never done a flash file like this where the flash movie needs to span the full width of the screen.
So if I view this on a smaller monitor, the flash file is to big for the screen, and you have to scroll the page over to the right/left to see the whole flash file. Which makes it really hard for users with smaller monitors to have the ability to scroll the slideshow left or right.
So I would really want for the flash file in the div to automatically size to the width of the screen/resolution of the viewing computer... if that's possible
and I really have no idea how to get this done. I tried searching and searching.
The coding for the div:
Code:
<div id="flash">
<object width="1597" height="639">
<param name="movie" value="slideall3works.swf">
<param name="wmode" value="opaque" />
<embed src="slideall3works.swf" width="1597" height="639" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="opaque">>
</embed>
</object>
</div>
And the coding for the CSS:
Code:
@charset "utf-8";
/* CSS Document */
body { margin: 0px; padding: 0px;
background-color: #000000;
}
#flash {
height: auto;
width: auto;
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;
top: 165px;
position: relative;
}
I would be really grateful it somebody could give me a few tips or ideas on how to do this?
Thanks in advance,
Nick

You need javascript to detect the screensize of a user. Here is an example. Check view source of the web site.

Oh man, I was worried, I had a feeling it would be something in Javascript.
I don't know the first thing about Javascript.
But this seems to be exactly what I need, so hopefully I can figure it out. It don't look too bad.
Thanks a lot cancerinform, that's what I was looking for.
